So, finally, I managed to find a girl online who wants to meet up for a date. We've been talking a LOT online and she seems to be pretty comfortable with me despite having never met me (she's going to be attending the same private college I just graduated from, among other things). So, with that said, I have a few questions:

1) I found a really nice Italian restaurant that is about an hour away from us. I realize that's really far away for a first date, but it's not your typical restaurant and I think it would make for a really memorable first date. But is the distance too much? Should I be straightforward and ask her if it's alright? Or should I scrap this idea altogether and just go somewhere closer to where we live? I figure we could use the car ride to get more personally acquainted since I'm very good at keeping a conversation alive.

2) In the event that the above is "too much" and we go somewhere local, should I plan anything for afterward? Or should I just keep it to a 1-2 hour dinner then drop her off?

3) This is a question outside just the scope of online dating, but I am curious as to what you all think about chivalry. Should I open/shut the car door? Little things like that. Typically I do that for all of my dates no matter how long I've known the woman, offline or online, but I am not sure if this is actually the right thing to do. I'm in my early 20s, by the way.

What's your goal for the date?

If you want to treat her to a good place/restaurant then yeah you could bring her ther. Just make sure to keep the vibe during the travel fun so as not to bore. :)

p.s. It should be up to you if you want to prolong the date or not. :)

Alright, thanks. My goal isn't just to get laid, I'm kind of past that phase now and am looking for something more serious.

Personally i love the chivalry crap. Just because not a lot of guys do it so girls eat that sh*t up.

I hope you've already talked to her on the phone, as lots of girls are very different between messaging on facebook and talking on the phone.

Also the tip i give everyone that emails me about "finding love" is to keep a big pipeline because you never wanna settle for second best.

What you want to do after the date is totally up to you. I've noticed that girls get a lot more 'into you' if you simply just kiss close them. And most girls although they won't admit it like to kiss on the first date.
