I need some advice here. I liked one girl back in 2006 or so, when I was in high school. At that time I didn't feel that I deserve her. Now I feel different

What way do you suggest to open her if she might remember me as a loser?

It's easy to get back in touch with old friends from school because you have shared memories. Instead of going with a planned opener, maybe try to think of the funny, crazy, ridiculous things that happened and just go with it. She'll have her own stories to add to the convo. Time is on your side, 5 years is long enough for her to be nostalgic for the fun HS years, and she is probably kind of fuzzy on the details by now (such as your exact personality back then). It's great that you don't think she is too good for you now- that negative mindset screws up so many potentially awesome relationships- think "level playing-field". The thing is that we have not been classmates or anything. She was 2 years younger and I just liked her. Maybe I should just go direct and wirte her the "I always had crush on you"...

hey man, i can relate to that situation.

What i did was that i started small-talking on how she had been and stuff said that it was too bad that i didn't get to know her better and said we have to meet some time, no biggie but just meet.

She agreed and then we talked for quite some time and at one point i looked her in the eyes with a smile and said: wow, i had the biggest crush on you back then, and with good reason

After that we kept more in touch, no relationship but way closer than ever before.

this is my experience, but that is a way i like to go with people that i used to like before especially in school

So I discussed this with my friend today and decided to go just direct. I wrote her something like this (translation from Czech):

"Hi, I really liked you at high school, but I didn't have the courage to talk to you. Fortunately, at university I became a man, so I want to take you on a date now."
