So this is what i got from what happened to me, I recently started texting this girl, and I called her out on stuff when texting her for example, she puts smilies the wrong way around so i called her out on it and called her a weirdo, I put a winky face after this to show i was joking, Then she said you seem to like the weirdos. I was in

So I basically did what the girl you are talking to did, she was saying about IF she likes you, you should of said something about this when she called you cute, here you should of said "Woah, lets slow this down " When the girls I'm texting said i like weirdos i said to her "Who said anything about liking now, you have not yet earned that right, weirdo" This worked like a charm, by obviously telling her in a not too harsh way, she does not deserve you, straight after she got the text she was texting back asking how to earn that right, lol

So Dude, what I'm basically trying to say is not to get nervous, you're not even in her physical company at this stage, also what I'm saying is, you act like you are too high standard for her, and she will be qualifying herself like there's no tomorrow

You kept the convo going too long & it kinda got pointless. I would of stopped talking to her after you said "Alright".
And you kinda messed up when she said your cute. You could of escalated in many ways here. You could of asked "What made you say that?" in a light &playful way but what i would not do is compliment her back right away because usually girls expect something to be said in return and i've grown to learn just because someone compliments you doesn't mean they deserve one back. Shes attracted to you so you can work with that!
