I'm new to the world of PUA and tired of being an AFC, I've read through The Game and am currently working on the stylelife challenge.

I met HB9 after she sent me a message on one of those facebook apps Are You Interested giving me her email and telling me to add her as a contact (since AYI limits what you can do to the 9th level unless you pay).

Anyways we start talking flirting back and forth and in the second message I told her that I totally just stroked something off my bucketlist by talking to her (may be a slight touch of AFC in this line) and asked her if she's seen the Buckelist leading into a conversation topic of choosing your own bucketlist of 10 items. She replied with:

Your right about the sad movies, theres always a time to watch a few of them. Oh boy my very own bucketlist .. hmm this is going to be tough, but off the top of my head...
1. Become a successful defense lawyer
2. Get married and have a family
3. Change someone's life
4. Learn to dance all those pretty fancy dances, (ballroom, tango, waltz, swing)
5. Learn French and maybe some other languages
6. Learn to swim ( I know I know, most people already know how by the time they're like 5)
7. Write a book
8. Eliminate discrimination (okay maybe this ones a little far out but one can dream right?)
9. Travel the world
10. Become actively involved in charities and charity work and help the homeless. (Oh and the homeless animals too)

I teased her about how excited she sounded and how it's kind of cute and at a later date I have plenty of material for ripping on her (not being able to swim... NICE). She asked me to give her MY bucketlist of ten items in a second message which she sent two seconds later (saying P,S. What's your list or something to that effect). so instead of complying directly to her question I used Morgan Freeman's list... lets see if she picks up on it.

I'm also calling her Miss-Play-It-Cool since her messages are always days late and apologized saying she's not trying to Play-it-cool.

What do you guys think?

I'd say something along the lines of, "I don't like to give out such personal information online. Let's get some coffee this week and I'll tell you all about my real bucket list...and the crazy story I have to go along with it! But we have to make sure it's a public coffee place...for all I know, you could be a 40 year old man." I think she's interested enough that she might go for the date. If you're not quite ready to ask her out...then just keep it interesting and transition into other "comfort building" conversations.

Update:

I saw she was online at some point this afternoon to update her "Quit-O-Meter" for smoking and can only assume she read the message.

I left my last message off with saying that I'll tell her my other two items (of the 10) in the bucket list later (trying to imply that I would leave her anxious/waiting and have her message me back to get them) but pretty sure I fucked up because she won't know whether I'm messaging her AGAIN or if her turn to reply.

I'll sit on it a few days and see what she does as i'm still well within the time window that she replies.

Thanks for the tip mig, I'll see if I can work that in somehow only difficulty with it is that she lives 2 hrs away in a city that I'm moving to in January. I could probably mention I'm coming ou there sometime during a certain week to check out some housing/dorm's and could use someone to show me the wpg nightlife.

But in the meantime, time to get rid of the Oneitis that I"m building up here.

Hey Syph,

Don't fret mate, if she doesn't respond you can always send a second message. That's not the worst thing in the world. Honestly though...I don't think you can expect her to remember Danny Glover's bucket list even if she saw the movie.

I just re-read your first email and it got me thinking. The Game is a very interesting book, it's a fun read and it's a fantastic way to get guys interested/warned; but it's not at all a manual on how to pick up women. I don't think that was ever Style's intent.

Do some serious research, read some Mystery (watch Season 1 & 2 of the Pickup Artist to see in field footage - watch Keys to the VIP *especially the episode with Cajun), watch some of Gambler's free videos and read up on Adam Lyon's stuff. A good mix of these great PUA's will let you develop your own style so you don't become a PUA robot. You wouldn't jump out of an airplane without taking a class, don't jump into the game without doing your homework. As Mystery says "Competence is better than confidence."

Hey Mig, no worries on the social robot; I have no intent of becoming another Papa or Tyler.

I have several of David D's programs including and others including:
Deep Inner Game, DyD, MANtra,
Allan Pease's Body Language
Awaken the Giant Within

I'm also looking for a copy of think and grow rich by Napolean Hill presently and I should mention that I've only worked my way through Body Language and The Game so far.

I can emulate the perfect posture easily enough, but I still display a lack of confidence since my inner game isn't there yet it would lead to incongruence (one thing at a time... right?)

As far as Mystery's show is concerned is there anywhere I could get the DVD's from or would you recommend "OTHER" methods?

Do you have any recommendation on the order I should go through the recommended reading and my material, like say work on reading through Inner game material like Think and Grow Rich and Awaken the Giant within or should I go directly to learning MM and just scratch things off the list as I go?

You said you want a copy of "think and grow rich?"

you can read it as a PDF for free on soilandhealth.com. just google "think and grow rich pdf" and it's the first one that pops up.
you probably wanted it in book form, but it is free.

Think and Grow Rich is worth a read but don't bother buying it. Do what Ethan said or just sit down and Borders and read it (sarge some girls while you're there?!).

VH1 has the PickUp Artist on their website...but I would suggest "alternate" methods of watching them, because they have tons of commercials and it's in a very small player. Watching Season 1 and 2, you'll enjoy them...and watch Keys to the VIP for in field footage of pick up artists...plus you'll see what not to do.

David D stuff works good for a while but I always found the girl getting tired eventually when I pushed DD too hard. I think your best bet is to check out Gamblers Stealth Attraction (he has some clips up for free I believe), and just go on youtube and search through the PUA stuff there (Adam Lyons has some good things there).

The problem with ALL of the books though..is that it will get you thinking that you need to be this perfect calculated PUA to have a chance. To be honest...even being an average PUA, you're far beyond most AFC's out there. So read the stuff...watch what you can for free...and figure the rest out!

Awaken the Giant Within is a great book, but it's thick and it won't help THAT much with your game. Watch the videos I suggested and you'll go far.

Alright, so I think it's time to message this girl back,

Tell me what you guys think of my second message in a row

Noting that two days ago I said I was also busy, a student, and that I would get back to her with the last two entries out of the ten to my "bucketlist" (which was ripped from the movie as a joke).

My goal for the next two interactions with her is to build up more rapport by talking about family and after she replies to this message I will say something along the lines that things on my end are getting busier and leave her my #. Or would it be better to say something along the lines of

Ex: I'd love to continue our conversation on (topic) I will not be able to log onto facebook as much anymore due to exams coming up here is my #.

Ex2: I'd love to continue our conversation on (topic) I will not be able to log onto facebook as much anymore due to exams coming up, how can we continue this conversation.

Hey Ms. Play-It-Cool,

As mentioned here are the other two entries for my Bucketlist

9. See more of Meso-America (The more I read about them, the more fascinated with the whole culture and era I become.)
10. I want to find the future mother of my children, my partner in crime and the person who will be by my side through good times and bad.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (I want to write something here about not being able to look at another turkey or how I'm going to sleep well for the next few days... thanksgiving was on monday) and transition it somehow to get her to talk about her thanksgiving weekend.... I also previously asked if she had any big plans for the thanksgiving weekend (aside from recovering from her flu) so I'm not sure if that would come off redundant/needy.

Get back to me,
I guess I deserve the title now,
Mr Play-it-cool

Any comments/suggestions?
P.S. What was your take on that whose line video I linked you!?

Thank you ethan, I ended up securing a copy from the website mentioned.

THe only difficulty with your suggestion of sitting down and having a read, is that we lack a REAL book store in the city I live in and the library has a very limited selection on self-help/PUA books (I checked).

Looks like I'll have to go with the alternate methods of watching The pickup artist as vh1's videos are banned in canada.

I checked out some of adam lyon's stuff in passing, and I will defeintly give it more of a look when I have the time, as well as gambler.

Honestly Mig, if you push any material or method too hard you will come off a weird.

Heres an update for those who have been reading my thread, I just Number closed the lady

After sending a reply message to her with the last two items of my bucket list (my OWN) and teasing her about how she'd almost need a magical monkey paw to eliminate worldwide discrimination I received a reply from her.

Basically her reply was talking about how she has a talent of making people laugh, and tied that into my (morgan freeman's) bucketlist entry: laugh till I cry. She asked about my thanksgiving and my dads birthday, and how it's her moms today, and how she is going to be even busier. She signed her message off by calling herself, Miss Playing it cooler than ever.

I had some fun with this, here is what i sent to get the # close which some of the boys in PUA chat assisted me with. Big thanks to Hero and all the boys in this thread/forum.

Hey Ms. Playing-it-cooler-than-ever

I see EXACTLY what's going on here, your just trying to get away with sending one message a week!

Tell yah what, I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself, give me your phone number and we can discuss your plans for world dominatio... I mean your plans to eliminate discrimination over that.

Get back to me,
Mr Play-it-Cool

P.S. Wish your Mother-Unit (Yeah.. I totally watched Cone heads as a kid) a happy birthday for me!
