This is my conversation on pof. I am a separted guy. My starting conversation was because the girls name was year of the rat and her line said monkey or dragon will do.

Me: How about a pig? Astrologically speaking of course.

Her: Ha, ha. I think the pig looks for something a little more casual than I, but thanks for
the message!

Me: Thats not true of all pigs. This pig is in the market for fun, friendship, honesty and maybe roast beef.

Her: Good to know, yet this rat is in the market for an exclusive longer-term relationship and definitely not roast beef. This rat is also a vegetarian.

Me: lol..Nothing wrong with that...This pig is new to dating and has been burned by old flame. Not looking to be a man/pig. Relationships start by clicking, attraction, dating and fun as in having fun with each others company.

Her: I understand the pig's position. Getting burned is no fun. The rat knows how
relationships start, but the rat is also both industrious and cautious and not looking to be a rebound/emotional bridge.

Me: You are a very intelligent rat as rats are a very smart rodent.(hope I spelled that correctly?) Consider that the rat is in control of herself and the pig wants friends to talk to. No games and no lies and no leading anybody on. We are really looking for the same thing from a different point of view.

Her: It's the rat's opinion that one that is separated is not considered long-term potential. No games, no lies, no leading anybody on. My opinion isn't and doesn't need to be shared by everyone, but it's unwavering and I don't apologize for it. I've got some must-haves that aren't negotiable.

Me: Wow you are one tough rat! This is a fun conversation. I see in your profile that you are divorced, that must of started with a separation. You are looking for the long term. Everybody wants happiness. I am glad that you don't apologize for your opinion and you shouldn't, it is your right. My name is Rob btw.

She hasn't read the last post but she hasn't deleted it yet either. Could be so she can find me easy next time she's online? She deleted each one immediately after replying. I really am just looking to connect with 1 woman so I havn't lied about anything. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I see where you're going with the opening line and I like what you're trying to do, but you're immediately coming off as qualifying yourself and seeking her approval. So right off the bat she knows she's higher value than you. Reread the conversation. You spend the entire series of messages trying to convince her that you're right for her. And you two dont even know each other yet.

I think it's better to be coming from the frame of you trying to determine whether she's right for you as opposed to trying to fit into whatever parameters she's set. So she's looking for monkey and dragons? Who gives a crap? You're a pig and you're much cooler and more interesting than her silly little dragon boyfriends.

Like I said, though, I do like the astrology-related opening line. I'd prefer something like "Hi my name's Rob, and I'm a pig...astrologically speaking, of course." Nice job with that. First I need to find out if I'm a pig, and if I am, I'm going to steal it lol.

Also, I think you should transition out of the rat/pig stuff sooner. Once it opens and you pass a comment or two about it, it's probably time to switch to normal conversation.
