Some guys don't like it because they can't control the conversation as much as other sites like Match and Facebook, but in my experience eHarmony is one of the best sites for actually meeting women. First of all, the odds are in your favor - there is a much higher women-to-men ratio on eHarmony than on other sites. It's also structured so that it encourages communication rather than just allowing people to cruise the profiles. And lastly, it's the most expensive of all the dating sites - their full price for a month of membership is over $50/mo. I have found that usually translates into higher quality singles who are truly interested in meeting men, not just flaking or hanging out and checking out pictures/profiles like on the free or low-cost sites.

Fortunately, there are lots of ways to get on eHarmony without paying the full price. A quick google search shows that there are loads of sites that tell you how to use eHarmony's promotional codes and rules to join the site very inexpensively, sometimes for as low as around $10/mo. I've found this site to be among the best as far as active users. The promo codes on this site and strategies for using eHarmony's own policies to your advantage *do* work - I signed up today for a $10/mo promotional membership.
