I don;t understand how you guys are praising POF so much...i just created an account yesterday and the place is full of fake accounts of people who don't really exist...and im in a big city too (montreal). I'm literally talking to 10 girls at the same time and they are giving me quotes from other conversations that im having...it's probably this kid doing this for sh*** and giggles lol...I dont get what the hype is all about. Might as well pay a few bucks and go to eHarmony and meet some real people....

I've had moderate success on POF and OKCupid. It's just a good way to supplement meeting people in real life.

Also, it generally takes more than a day to get some solid results.

So there are only 10 girls in your area then? I thought you lived in a big city? lol. POF as much as you think is not full of fakes. Yes there are fake profiles, but you need to know how to spot them (I give you a hint they tend to have model like pictures in them and short "about me" sections). If you think a paid site is going to be any better then by all means go ahead and waste your money, as there are fakes there as well. And fyi eHarmony suck balls, you have no way to search for girls as they are selected for you.

Its not that much work getting a girl in real life if you know what you are doing, in some cases it takes less work.

Give it time. Do NOT waste time on CHAT stick to emails only. Learn how to spot fake/scam profiles. Learn how to screen for timewasters. Push for offline communication or meets with 3 mails max.

Pay sites in theory should be better but you will begin to reealise that those sites also offer free or very cheap access to women, so you may not find it much better.

I would persevere with POF for a while and if you still have no luck then just try OKCupid (at least it's free for the basic things!) Some sites just don't seem to work with some people

i agree to me its going backward from meeting a girl in real life to working your way to email to phone then real life pof is just another way to get women plus forums are funny but its not my main way of getting women but at the same time its fun to try

I just posted a lengthy post about my experiences with online dating. I have used many sites with varying success. Yahoo Personals was my favorite back in the day when it was free. When it became a paid service it's effectiveness disappeared.

Match is the largest internet meat market. It's also the most deceptive. Many of the profiles on Match are fake, or are inactive profiles that their system will continue to put in search results as "active". They've actually been sued in US courts over this. Like most profile sites, I don't bother writing to girls. I put up a very compelling profile and let them come to me. It's a paid service so at least the girls on there have a little bit of money to spend. It attracts a younger singles crowd who are more flakey, but they're also more open to being gamed.

Plenty of Fish is another profile site, so the same rules apply (put up a good profile, and use it as bait). It's free and attracts more of the 17-19, single-mom, and Section 8 crowd. Low quality singles there.

Craig's List is probably the bottom of the barrel. Largest percentage of fakes, the real profiles are completely beastly, but the same rules apply. Put up a profile and let the girls come to you. I've met plenty of good looking girls from CL who just go on looking to kill time. Unlike the w4m ads, the m4w ads are mostly real and if you're even a novice PUA you can write a profile that will make the rest of those guys look like total chumps.

I disagree with you on this one. All the highest quality girls I've met online that actually became girlfriends of 6 months or longer came from eHarmony. True that you can't sarge on that site, but the chances of actually talking to and meeting the girls that get matched up with are much much higher than on any other site (so long as you take it seriously and do it well) There's also a better chance that the girl is going to smart, fairly savvy, have a job, a decent set of social skills and will generally be someone you want to spend time with vs. some flake chick who might be a good lay but who is dumb as a bag of bricks and only out dating to find some guy to support her.

Also, for eHarmony you've got me intrigued to try again since that's more what I'm looking for. Only problem is I've tried twice and they denied me... apparently I'm "too special" for them to find me a match... :( So any tips on actually getting in?

Dunno. Maybe you failed Dimension #13, the "creepy rapist" dimension... :D j/k

Try answering the questions the way you think girls want them answered. Also, be consistent with your answer. If you respond one way to a question and then another way to a similarly worded question, the system will flag you as being "untrustworthy."
