I'm in the process of testing whether girls are more responsive to full profiles or those with minimal information. It think I've spotted some quirk.

I've set up a reasonably detailled profile on POF and have mailed 20 girls, all while they are shown as being online. So far I've had 10 read, 1 unread deleted, 2 read deleted and the rest unread. I've had 4 mails back. I has commented that I have a good profile and another has said I'm good looking...modesty prevents me from disagreeing! The profile is not too bad for about 10 minutes work but could be even better. My profile has been viewed 28 times so far and it appears to have been looked at by all those who read my mail.

Ok I know it's early but 4 replies to 20 mails is lower than expected, especially as they were all online. Any ideas on this? I have a feeling that mailling while they are online may overload the girls and they don't know what to do.Perhaps they are expecting chat rather than mail?

Hey buddy, that's about part for Plenty of Fish or most other free sites. I actually think that messaging them while they are online is the best way to go. If you can strike up a conversation while they are still online you stand a good chance of getting a IM or phone number getting you one step closer to getting them in front of you.

the profiles (full and minimal) have just been set up to test the difference between responses to profiles based largely on the information in the profile. I haven't even set them up for my place of residence and they are *purely* for testing purposes only.

Another aspect I forgot to ask about was approaching those girls who looked at my profile and have not mailed me. I guess a quick acknowledgment of their interest and proceed as normal.

Exactly, I usually just say something like:

Subject: I caught you peeking...

Body: I caught you peeking at my profile. After looking over your profile I can tell... (Insert cold read) and would like to find out what you're all about.
