Right heres the situation, on halloween i was out in town with a few mates, the plan was to meet up in a pub and move on to a club soon after.

Me and my three mates were waiting in the pub when my other mates came over and joined us but they were with a few girls, one of the girls i know and im friends with her, she had brought one of her friends along with her (HB8). One of my friends was all over this HB in the pub but it was clear she wasnt interested and this was confirmed when one of my mates asked the HB if my friend had a chance to which she quickly replied no. ( He asked her because my friend was making a fool of himself chasing her and it was funny knowing he didnt have a chance )

The night ended not soon after as one of my mates was ill and i went home with him so i didnt get to speak to the HB.

Now today i added her on facebook heres the conversation that followed:

HER: heyy thanks for the add did i see youu on halloween?

ME: No worries
Yea, i aint quite sure what i was meant to be though lol but yea up in the pub You allright ?

HER: why aint you sure lol ? .. yeah im okay thanks you?

ME: Cause i was wearing overalls with a mask lmao. You have a good night after ?
Yea im good thanks

HER: aw was you haha .. it wass alright did you?

ME: Nah it was quite rubbish if im honest lol just went home after the pub

HER: aw loll i went homee like 2 ishh



That conversation happened on my wall and then i messaged her about an hour later with this:

ME: You out this weekend ?

HER: dunno yet you ??

ME: Yea im going to ** club sian and that said it was a foam party

HER: Aw is there i might go.



Now these two times are the only times ive spoken to her and i think i have allready messed it up....is there any tips you guys can give me to turn this around ? Can you think of anything to say after that last message ??? Or just as good can you point out where i messed up and show me what i should have put and please dont go easy on me... i need to learn so be as critical as you need to be

Never use smileys. Smileys reduce ambiguity - ambiguity is your friend. Smileys are immature too.
Quite a bit of uncertainty in your texts - "Yea, i aint quite sure..." and negativity "Nah it was quite rubbish if im honest"
Her last message "...might go" Don't hold your breath. Looks like a vague rejection to me.

As for a reply to her last message. I don't know , maybe "What do you mean MIGHT? it's going to be the best foam party ever!"

I have to disagree about the smileys. Using smileys allow you to neg online.
Where otherwise it would be impossible to do so since you can't use your body-language to communicate that you're joking.
Moreover, purposefully allowing your messages to be interpreted in ways that you're not controlling would just seem like a headache.
I understand that a certain amount of mysteriousness is desirable when interacting with a woman. It keeps them thinking about you, who you are, and why you do the things you do. But there are better ways of communicating that.

I think there is no right and wrong in this. just what works best for the individual. This is possibly an age thing. I'm in my 40s. Maybe younger people like them. There IS a fun element to them.

I just use standard text and no smileys. Telling jokes without smileys always leads people to think "Is he serious or not". If they do not get that it's a joke then they are likely to be no good for me.In a way I'm using it to qualify them.

Nowadays if a woman starts using smileys with me I rip into her a bit. In the past I did experience several girls/women use them in texts or emails and then they were not interested.And no I didn't rip into them! Receiving Smileys to me are IODs and the equivalent of a nervous laugh in real life.

You claim that i have bad grammar, yes i do im not going to try and say otherwise, however you are a hypocrite, you start your sentence without the use of a capital letter.

If you werent able to help me then thats fine but dont shoot me down for bad grammar when you clearly have bad grammar also.
