Do you guys ever add random girls that you've never actually met before? I know I've done this a few times just because they were relatively close to me and the name sounded familiar. Anyways, I just wondered what was the best thing to say to start with? I'm guessing a direct opener but wouldn't you want to make sure that you don't come off as a jackass or whatever first? I usually use the "sorry for the random add" followed up by something entertaining.

You're talking about Myspace right?

There are pros and cons to adding a girl THEN messaging her VS not adding her at all JUST messaging her. I'm not quite sure which gets the best response rate as I haven't done enough experimenting yet - however, I do know enough that both methods can work.

Ok, so if you've added a girl and she accepts, then that's already one display of interest towards you. It won't always be a big IoI (she might just add anyone who requests), but girls who you have added tend to be easier to open than girls that you've contacted cold.

Personally I'd never say "sorry for the random add", because you shouldn't be apologising for anything.

The line that I'm currently experimenting with is:

"You are far too cute. Why aren't we married yet? Please explain this to me..."

If you substitute "cute" for "sexy" you get fewer responses, but those who do respond hook harder.

yeah myspace for the most part. Anyways, I like adding before sending a message because you can see if they are interested at all if they accept or deny the friend request. Yeah, looking back "sorry" probably wasn't a good word.
