I have an interesting problem. I was searching for some of my old friends from Junior High School on myspace because I was feeling nostalgic. I notice that a couple of my old female friends grew up to be really hot. I wanted to see how they would respond to my new personality, so I messaged a couple of them. I noticed a weird phenomenon. On the one hand they wanted to reminisce about old time and catch up, but on the other hand I could tell they seemed to be disinterested in the whole online conversation. Like regardless of what I said or how I said it, they still treated me like they used to. I think that their former perceptions of me were so strong that without actually seeing me, they’re still picturing the old version of me on the other end of the computer screen. Anyone else notice anything like this?

if they had a strong perception of you it's unlikely to change through reading messages on a computer screen and you could come off as a try hard. maybe try more suttel(sp?) ways to change there perception of you like a freakin pimp myspace page with photos

Couldn't you have invited them for coffee to reminisce rather than doing it online

The problem is that they have no interest in arranging a meeting because they still perceive me the way I used to be. I'm not really asking for advice, I'm more interested in if this phenomenon is exclusive to me and my old friends or if this happens to other guys.

What have you done since you've last seen them? Let your page show the new you. Put up pictures of you with plenty of your friends, girls, doing fun activities, traveling, etc...

When it comes to what you say to them: I'd start off with playful negs... Hey you were the girl that dah dah dah and cried when her boyfriend dumped her!! wow, yeah i remember you. lol I wouldn't talk too much about old times because it would make them think about the old you, instead tell them what you've been doing lately (only the exciting stuff)

Let them know about your awesome new lifestyle! Find out what you like to do now and think of the wild situations and challenges you've encountered and create DHV stories!

I think you should just try to get a number when it comes to myspace. (if all you have is their myspace). So think of the best ways to do that.

What I've done is go to this annual festival (where a lot of my old friends frequent) and DHV in person. And yes my page is filled with all my exploits and reflects my new personality.
