i thought i was doing okay and now I don't know how to respond ....

Me: Are you Shy or something

Hb: Huh? Why do you ask that?

Me: Well I've been on this myspace thing for quite awhile now and you still haven't said Hi...kinda rude wouldn't you say? lol

Hb: Well yes, but that's just how I am though. :)

Me:Hahah so you are shy, that's no fun!

But hey, I don't think you're ready for this game:

Tell me 3 things about yourself and make one of them a lie. I'm gonna try to guess the lie.

Just a fair warning, I'm a pro at this game. muahah!! g-luck

Hb I know you're not THAT bored. lol. And I'm not actually shy.

I can never tell if what I'm saying is going to work for me or against me!!!

How should I respond?

Well this is what I would say:

"You're right! I'm not THAT bored. But I am psychic... yeah that's right! I can tell your personality from what your favorite animal is!

So then.. what's your favorite animal? ;p

Hood"

Then i'd try a cold read on her. It seems what your doing isn't working, so i'd try and change the subject quickly. But you know, i'm just a noob so hopefully you'd get more experienced advice lol.

She first claims to be shy then says she isn't , she doesnt seem up to trying this 3 question game so I would just not try and make her keep in control and pick up on her lying about being shy.

'So you rnt shy, lying to me now, thats why we would never work (false disqualifier). Now im going to get your opinion on this, Who lies more Guys or girls ?'

Then re build from there. I dont know any background with you and this girl so you could be way past this point.

Improvise that opener some, so that you have more conversation flexibility. Take some of the wording and make it more eyecatching. Keep the shy part though.

After you hook them with that opener about being shy, stop talking about how shy they are, soon after. you went on and on then gave them a game, which the HB ignored. That would probably work decently in person but people take more time to think online. So it's not as spontaneous.

You need to move to the next subject of your choice (Threading).

For example:

Your response: Are you shy or something?

Her response: very shy.

Your response: that's reminds me of a friend when he was younger, he was really shy, he became really social later though. Have you ever ridden a roller coaster?

Her response: Yes, I love rollercoasters I'm going to Disneyworld this Summer.

(proceed)

HB's don't listen to the entire conversation, they pick out the cool parts.
What happens here, is you give a short story with a positive result, then change the subject in a relatable, fun way. Whenever a thread gets boring, cut it immediately and start a new one. Learn to stack them one after another. It makes you seem more interesting because you always have something to say, also this is where you DHV, build comfort.etc...

You could flow this in better,

'that's reminds me of a friend when he was younger, he was really shy, then he went on loads of roller coasters to get over it. I guess if you can talk to people on them you can talk to them anywhere. Have you ever ridden a roller coaster?

Just gives it a bit more flow, its important to cut boring threads but bringing up a friend when he was young seems odd if you dont link it in. Either cut and move on without mentioning the friend or link it in.
