Need help, guys. Met this girl online almost 2 years ago, got her #, we talked on the phone a few times but wasn't able to get her to meet. Then I've met my exgf(we broke up a couple of months ago) &this girl popped up in my fb. (I think) I was doing pretty good but I messed it up - I was hanging out with my friend &while I was distracted I responded to her message(which seems like a shit test) without thinking. What would be the best way to fix it?

First of all.. You have to stop prefacing your truths with excuses. Thats a bad habit. Get rid of it. Excuses are the nails that build the house a failure. Just say you fucked up and you want to make it better. No excuses needed.

The conversation was try hard. Way too try hard. You were qualifying yourself the entire time. Let it go. Theres nothing to fix here.
