how to do you respond to statuses or messages like "you know, I just want someone to love and cherish..."?
any ideas/examples?

When a girl writes in an area where many people can view it, something like "I just want somebody to love!" it means: "I want someone to adore me and cater to my wishes and desires whenever I please. Not necessarily the other way around." Why? Because if they found someone whom they loved, they would have fallen for that specific person.

Your average response will be:

1. Haha, no I didn't mean I was looking for love. My status is a quotation from a song.

2. Yeah I wish I would fall truly in love. But I would have to feel the vibe, you see, I can't just begin with love that would be weird . . .

With contempt. It's attention whoring if it's a status and if it's a message, it's a copy paste job.

Do you want a woman's POV? DON'T respond to any girl who has that as her status unless that's the same thing you want. She is either A. totally insecure, B. just wanting to be treated like a princess, or C. really ONLY wanting a serious relationship right away. All of those things should be avoided like the plague!!
