I've signed up to a couple of dating sites, and am struggling for some openers. Some of the ones found on this site were great, and which I have used with mixed results.

I think the way forward for me is to make observant statements about their respective profiles. However, there are a couple of profiles that I'm can't think of any for!

My dilemmas are as follows:
What if they don't have any information in their profile? A few that I have that just state their musical preferences, etc. Do I just neg them for the fact that they don't have their ideal man, etc?

How early should I use a neg in a conversation?

I'll give an example, any feedback/ advice would be greatly appreciated!
HB: Music: I like Nine Inch Nails, Muse and Metallica

hmm, for thinking about for only a minute i like your idea. i cant think of anything of the top of my head but some kind of neg how "for being a member of a dating site, u sure dont....." something about describing herself/ her mate. but add a touch of niceness in there so she doesnt think youre rude. "but hey! at least we have the same interest in music!" "but at least youre into def leppard!"

then u can neg further after she replies back to you.

Someone on here posted an opener that's been working for me pretty well.

"So, assuming since you signed up you haven't already met the love of your life, eloped, and are currently on your way to honeymoon in Vegas for the next month…"

Also I've noticed a lot of girls on these sites list travel as one of their interests so I usually follow my opener up with this...

"I noticed that you want to travel. What kind of places do you want to see? Most people list the "typical" destinations. I want to see the more exotic places now. I'll save the rest for when I'm retired haha!" (mine)

or...

"If you could drop everything right now and go anywhere, where would you go and what would you just HAVE to see and do?" (found on here I think)
