Another thing is that if I did get the number I'm not sure where I would take it from there or how to make that into a meeting in person. Online is hard, cause sarcasm and joking are harder to pull off without body language. When you said settle, it was a little neg but came off as an isult. Like I said online is tough, you got to walk on egg shells with negs, infact I don't use them online. If that was not meant as a neg, well I read it and cringed.

dont just give up you asked too soon for the number without building report

And thanks to the others, Ive been doing my research and others have said they try number closes with in only a few messages, oh well.. I'm still working on this one but I think I'm falling off, I tried the "nice girl" it won't work thing but she just said "ok lol". .. Kind of lost motivation on that one I guess. You're doing it right man. Your goal in online dating should be try and get the number asap and then don't log in again. It is true that there's no more than 2-3 messages needed online and from then on take it to the next level which is txt. It makes it more personal if she's not willing to give the number away fuck her next girl... She's just playing hard to get get those girls off the list.

I agree completely go to text as soon as possible, I have got the number in 4-5 messages most of the time. I always pull " I don't go on here that often, give me your number so we can talk some more" notice you tell her not ask for it.

When i want a girls number i first give her mine and then ask for hers and just come up with a random justification or excuse.

With online dating if a girl replies to you then you should be able to get a date every time near enough if you are good.
Agree with the other member here - nowhere near enough rapport building on this one. I would go down the route of structuring your messages into groups of 3 (I mean the second, third, fourth message after she's replied to your first one - your opener was pretty good):

Part 1 - some funny shit like what you have used to make her laugh

Part 2 - something that references something in her profile asking her a genuine question about herself

Part 3 - something a bit cocky making you sound good ending with a wink and an open ended flirty question (no mention of sex - just flirt)

Do this a few times and you should see the length of her replies increase. If she is writing essays you know you are in. Don't move too soon. TALK to her. Carry on the flirting, throw in a few DHV routines (I've got some if you need them). After 2-3 days (yes days) say something like "hey I don't know if this is too soon but fancy meeting up". If you've done it right she will say yes - it should seem inevitable that she will meet you. She will already have told her friends about you and invested herself totally in you. Swap numbers then. Or you could ask for her number as a close and start texting her a bit - some girls like that.

If you don't build rapport like that you'll get lots of date cancellations. Saying "yes" to a date is easy online but then come date-day the fear of going to meet a stranger will kick in and she won't show.
