Ok guys,

most people are aware that an online profile should have many good features , compelling text , good photos, but one aspect which tends to be overlooked is the username. It's part of the image you convey and you should give it attention.

I think i have become much better at choosing one. Originally I had lame ones but moved on to enigmatic ones. I used the bubble and sense word concept of Sexual Key to come up with unique usernames. I used Velvetbubble at one point.

On one site I'm using Funky space which is quite good and also a clever spoonerism

I think my latest incarnation is good and have even been asked if Sky is my real first name! I keep them guessing.

So what's the best username you've seen or used? The worst? Has changing a username made any dramatic effects with online success?

One useful tip is to use a superhero name generator online which can provide a dramatic name which has an edge. And girls are looking for a hero aren't they?

Spinstill

I think thats a bit too close to the standard attitude of first name then date of birth in figures.

The worst ones I've seen are niceguy4u. It's just too cute and lame. Another one which was a bit offputting but apparently accurate was shoelicker, the guy had a hardcore shoe fetish.

I've wanted to try a sexually ambiguous user name. I think it would be nearly impossible to get away with one mentioning 69 maybe sixtee9 or something

The problem with more sexually aggressive names online is that unless the girl is looking to hook up to actually dating its going to be a turn off. Or the girl will see that you just want to hook up and nothing else. What would you think if a girl had a similar user name?

it shouldn't matter, if your game is solid, your name could be, 'loser_that_doesnt_leave_his_basement' and you'll still game

In my latest online experiment I used the name of wannafunk4me coupled with a sexual profile meant only 1 half decent positive reply out of over 60 mails. Quite abysmal response. In short being too sexual on dating sites is a death wish. Choosing a name IS part of the identity. IMHO online is totally different from normal gaming. So the username SHOULD not matter but it DOES.

One of the responses I got is obviously some spam or scam. She mailed me pics of herself with lots of cleavage. Probably some man posting soft porn pics for a joke. I replied with "nice tits - I want to see more photos"

What about that opening line that Mystery gets the contestants to use on the 2nd series of the pick up artist on Vh1. Where he tells them to go up and say "where does this line come from? Nobody puts Baby in a corner." and the answer is Dirty Dancing, a movie loads of girls find really hot.

I was thinking are there any song titles/movie lines that girls would know and really connect with. Your user name alone could be a conversation starter for when they look at your page.

Any advice?

cheers
