It's quite possible that you went in for the close too soon. Don't worry, it's not a big deal. And you should go in for the close rather sooner than later.
Sometimes when girls are put in a situation where they don't know what to do, they just freeze up; like a deer caught in a headlight. That's just their nature. Don't be hard on them for it.
