Well i was surfing our forums and noticed mention of CL and figured what the hell, id check out the casual encounters part of craigslist and see how bad it was...

After i finished laffing and got off the floor, i realized it was about what i had expected.

I checked out w4m (women looking for men...i hope).

To my surprise, all the women posting here had the sence NOT to post a picture up front. Half of them gave measurements (height, weight, hair color, etc), the other half tried frugally to describe themselves, which came accross as sounding more like them putting themselves down.

Maybe a quarter of them sounded like decent girls that are just lonely. The rest sounded either illegit (probably dudes), disturbed, or untrusting.

Guess its to be expected from the casual encouters part, but my guess is that the dateing part is about the same, just not as extreme.

Im not knocking internet dateing/meeting up. I just think if your gonna do it use a service that polices its posts more closely. I personally have no experience with the dateing sites but know alot of people who use them on a regular basis.

None of my friends use craigs list.

If you want a good laff (or are into wierd encounters...) check out CL for yourself.

I'm on Craiglist quite a bit and some of those posts are really funny, and really suck. This is why its not a primary aspect to my game. It's just a side project. I try not to take it too seriously, and just do it as a side project. Sometimes you find some HBs hiding in there. But I agree if you want a good laugh check out your local CraigsList Postings.

like you said, they describe themselves and whatnot, but i guess they are embarrassed to show themselves where anyone can see them. i just think it seems a little to fishy for me. i will stick to the occasion messages and friends requests i get and focus on real social interactions

Well, having pulled another all nighter and being extremely bored by now, i decided to do more pokeing around. Now admittedly my mind doesnt operate right after not sleeping for so long....but...

I did poke around through the platonic and w4m (women for men) posts on craigs list.

While some of these posts were odd, none of them were as bad as the casual encouters section.

Id say maybe 25% of the women included a picture. Unfortunatly for my eyes, not all of the pictures where of women id care to see, but some where pretty attractive women( or so they claim by posting a pic).

Im thinking of trying to put together an add for myself (better then replying to others right?). However im debating whether or not i should include a pic off the bat or make them reply for one.

I figure the worst that could happen is i end up on a few bad dates. A notch up from that is makeing some female friends to hang out with for social proof. Best would be if i can end up snaging a few closes or LTR's outta it.

Well im open to the idea of doing, or becomming more open to it i guess....just wondering what other peoples takes on it are.

yeah i used to try to talk to girls on craigslist and after a while I figured out that this shit is a joke....i think any website you don't pay for will be hard to meet women... i personally use hotornot.com.... its like $5.95 for a basic member ship and I am currently talking to two pretty hot girls from there right now =]

I have tried many times with CL(mostly posting)and have had very bad luck over all. I don't know if it's because it's free or not but I'm sure that doesn't help with people not taking it seriously. Unfortunately I only have one real success story with CL and that is I hooked up once with a married woman(I only got a bj from her but to be honest I didn't want much more than that anyway). I also did go on a date with a girl from CL once but she just didn't do much for me(she said she was an 8 but I'd say more like a 6). Earlier in the year(or should I say last year now)I thought I was going to hook up but before too long she flaked out on me(after she saw my pic which I'm sure was a factor). Mostly CL is pretty lame though. Myspace I haven't even really tried as it seems kind of intimidating. I'm open for suggestions on other cheap places to meet women on the internet though.
