I haven't posted anything to my okcupid profile yet, I'm trying to write it first and iterate until it is decent. I haven't put any effort into mixing up the sentence structure yet or trying to get rid of some of the "I"s, I'll save that for after I get the actual content right.

Well here is my first draft

"Self-summary
I'm impossible to sum up here; I am intelligent, friendly, warm and honest. I tend to get way too energetic and random around friends. I don't understand people who don't have energy for life, we only get to live it once, so I am ALWAYS up for anything, especially if it is something new and exciting. I really like going places I have never been whether its a new bar in town, a walk through the scary part of town or a trail through the mountains. I'm always thinking about traveling but I have never been overseas or west of the Mississippi. I'm hoping to change that soon. I also like sitting around watching movies or playing games, relaxing at home is way underrated.

What I’m doing with my life
I'm a Junior at Western studying Computer Science. I just moved to Kalamazoo in January, its been awesome so far. I live at ****** with two chill female roommates that are like sisters to me. I cut down to only working 3 nights a week so I still have quite a bit of free time and still have money to go out, its a great setup and I have almost nothing to complain about.

I’m really good at
As lame as it may sound I'm pretty exceptional with anything involving logical reasoning. I am a programmer so I guess that comes with the territory.
Skateboarding is my favorite hobby, it is getting tougher with age but it just keeps getting more fun.
I just started playing piano again after a 15 year break :P I'm pretty awful but I can learn any song if I put enough time into it.

The first things people usually notice about me
Well, I'm pretty stocky. I also try to make friends with everybody I see, its probably a symptom of being from a super small town. Oh yeah, and I get extremely energetic and random at all of the wrong times.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
TV: I don't watch much TV but I still keep up with a few shows. The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones are all fantastic. My favorite thing to watch is comedy though, I've been going through It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season by season and its absolutely hilarious.
Movies: Superbad is my favorite. I get really immersed and wrapped up in whatever I'm watching as long as it isn't stupid. I like almost everything that doesn't take itself too seriously, chick flicks aren't even that bad.

Music: Everything. I really like going to metal shows in particular but I love live music in general. I listen to and appreciate music of all genres. Bob Dylan and Rush are probably my favorite older groups and I've been listening to a lot of The Birthday Massacre, Emmure, Rise Against (saw them live 5 times, back when they were still good), Ellie Goulding and this rapper named "Nasty" lately.

Books: I'm not really a reader, I read nonfiction sometimes if I get particularly interested in a topic but that has probably been less than 10 books since high school.

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am
Working. Weeknights are fun though, we have "gatherings" here pretty regularly :P I really like going out to see live music especially but I'm down for anything.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like a lot of corny love songs and I really wish I could sing...oh and I slept with 4 stuffed animals every night until I was 13.

Scrap the whole thing. You come off boring, nerdy and slightly strange. It's to long. Your hobbies will not be attractive to the general female population. "First thing people notice about me"-Don't through an insult to yourself on the first line. I could pick apart the whole thing but I don't have time today. Sorry.

There are a threads on here that can help you out. I don't do online so I can't direct you to anything specific.

It looks like most of the other generic profiles to me, I don't know what to write about if everything there is junk

The most important thing is being congruent with yourself, girls are extremely picky online. You wouldn't want to go out on a date with a girl that liked you for the wrong reason (or the ability to copy paste some crap that doesn't even represent who you are anyway ).

There are ways to make yourself look at your best, while still being yourself and not some made up persona copied from the PUA community.

Most importantly :

Be confident in who you are, what you like
Don't be a needy chode
Be funny
Be your best self
