So there was a girl that I met through a mutual friend (she was a friend of my good friend's ex) the summer after my freshman year in High school. At that point in time, I hadn't even broken out of my cocoon and was what I now consider to be a socially inept geeky AFC. As it is now my Junior year, and I have grown taller, dress dramatically different, and while I am still somber at certain moments, I am much more flirty, much much more confident, and am just just different in several ways. Lately, (past few months) this same girl (Id consider her maybe a 6.5, but I have to start somewhere, but she goes to a private school so obviously she has the mentality of someone with higher attraction) has been liking statuses and photos. I have been contemplating what this means when I noticed a pattern, but recently decided to start. After all, if I lose, how am I going to lose social value to anyone but this one girl, considering our friends are not mutual any longer? Anyway, here's where the conversation begins:

Me: It has to have been a year since I've talked to you. How have you been?

Her: I know. It's been too long. But I have been really good. And you?

The thing is, she replied with the heart at 10 am, while I was in class. If she replied at around 10:16, then I believe I replied at 10:28 or it was around 10-15 minutes after she first replied. I believe my response was already a screw up. I opened her with an observational (IOI, in my opinion) flirty response then after getting another IOI I set the conversation to this slow ass formal response. Reflecting back, I feel incredibly stupid. I know it's not too late to save it, but Im not sure how to reply to that response in a flirty way and steer the conversation towards something more. Any advice?

I grew impatient and decided to see if I could do this on my own. So here's where I went:
I've been really awesome, I have to say. Or at least my day has been haha You have definitely gotten prettier since I last saw you though, that's a fact

I think it sounds good, even after reflection. We'll see if I get any IOI's from her after this response. Despite no community involvement so far, I'll keep you guys posted.

stop over analyzing shit and just have a conversation..... it doesnt matter how soon or how late you reply, its not gonna make you look desperate nor will it make you cool if you reply late(that's what you call immature games no one wants to play). if you're pulling your hair out for each reply she sends, you're just gonna blow it before you even get anywhere.

be yourself, be kind of a jerk but not an asshole(there's a difference), be nicer, say everything the way you want to say it, and most importantly.. be yourself.. dont try hard to be anything, hard wire it into your brain and it happens naturally.
