So this is a girl I very briefly (5 min max) spoke to on new years eve. She had to go back to her friends but she got my name to add me on facebook. Anyway, I didn't really think she was very interested but she just added me so obviously made a point of looking me up after she got back.

What can I say to her? I was pretty wasted by that point on NYE and probably didn't come across too well Still, I obviously left enough of an impression. Problem is I can't really remember what we talked about. What's a good thing to message her with to spike (or at least judge) her interest level?

You are really grasping at straws here. If she really liked you she'd have given you her #. Facebook is a very crappy alternative form of contact and secondly you don't know her anymore than she knows you so any contact you make is going ot be well akward. If you accept that then I'd be honest with her.

"I can barely remember anything from NYE but I remembered you told me to add you on Facebook. How did your night end?"

Go from there. At least be honest instead of trying to act like you remember everything when you don't. Worst thing that happens is she doesn't respond and you are no further along than before you met her.
