Been online sarging for about a month and got my first number close last night. A little bewildered as to what went right here. Looking for critiques. Bear in mind I had no clue what this girl's ethnicity was. It just said she was a 20 yr old Latina.

Subject: I'm great Ethnicity guesser!

Me: You're Puerto Rican, correct?
HB: Lool nope, not that great apparently.
Me; :-(
Can you blame a guy for thinking that all cute Brunettes came from Puerto Rico? (You probably can - but um please don't) So what's your background, really?
HB: Keeeep guessin', since you're sooooooo good at it LOL
Me: Haha if I'm going to keep guessing we need to make this
interesting. What do I get for guessing right? :)
HB: Ohhhhh jeezus, just guess lol // instead of falling into the convo-killing trap that the ethnicity guessing game would have been, I decided to jump the gun
Me: We should get coffee sometime :) You're a cute girl and you're obviously fond of games.
HB: Ehhh kinda cute, and only games that I can win. // a little concerned here - why is she devaluing her "cuteness"? Do her pics lie? Or was she talking abt me? lol so confusing
Me: haha well it's no fun playing with a girl who doesn't want
to win ;) Do you text?
HB: Buuhhhhhh whyyyyyyyy. and whats a text? //didn't realize at the time, but this was attempted humor. An example of why the online medium is tricky, I think.
Me: haha gonna make me spell it out? I'm asking for your digits, girl. What's the harm? Worst case, I text you and you're not feeling it, so ignore the text, and we move on with our lives
HB:HAHAHAAH jeezus, I was kidding over hurrrrr. Fine, I'll
give ya my digits, like its the 90s haha xxxxxxxxx
Me: lol normally I ask a girl's name before her number - guess
I got that backwards here :P So are you Rosy Cheeks in the
real world?
HB: Yeah dude, everybody calls me that..even my Professors when
I'm called on in class

Dumb question but why are you number closing online? I go from 2-3 emails to a meet up, and I've never made a call. Then again I refuse to IM as well.

I figure she's likelier to give you her number than agree to a meetup right away. Once you've got the number you have an "in" to make the meetup happen, or so the reasoning goes. I've never actually tried asking anyone to meet in person right away. Not sure how that would go down :P

Good job velvett!

Don't worry about number closing online. That's the way most of us do it. When you're dealing HB >=8 asking for date in three PoF/Cupid messages is gonna come off as desperate.

Take your time, build rapport, generate a SHIT LOAD of attraction, and comfort.

Its not immediate its 2-3 emails over 4-6 days (I use 1 day between responding). My email to date ratio is pretty good.

asking for a meet up after 2-3 emails in which you established rapport after she is attracted to your profile in no way comes off as desperate. That's ridiculous, where do you get this idea from?

Well you're super PUA. Most of us are mere mortal.

With all due respect dlightmen your answer and your sourcing are both suspect.

Ive actually read the book you spammed here, and, as the title said its about texting and phone game, as my memory serves me the original question has to do with sarging girls online. So that's a fail appeal to authority argument to start. Ive actually read three books on texting and that one you spammed, is the only one I would consider good, but again, not relevant to this thread.

Secondly lets not derail this thread. Im actually trying to help the original poster, you say "good job?" well we all like smoke blown up our asses on occasion but the poster has one number close after a month on-line. That in no way is a "good job" by any objective standard. My point was, before the thread got derailed, that IM's and number closing online isn't needed, and it certainly isn't in any way working for the poster.

I will refer you to books that are actually about online sarging that I have read: DDA girls online, David M's guide, and net2bed. After all this reading I don't remember seeing crapola about IM'ing chicks for number closes, except in the most dated of the material which was still related to AoL chatrooms. I'm not saying it is inherently bad technique, but it isn't what I would recommend. Now if your getting mad bitches doing this please advise the poster, don't attack my post as wrong based on these non-sequiters and specious arguments.

Happy PUAing. :D
