You: I have to tell him that though lean out pretend to go away if she doesnt pull you in then lean back in and say another routine or DHV story or even be like "i can tell we would never get along" I think that would actually fit this scenario a lot depending on how well you demonstrate body language + tone in your responses.

You can not read what emotions you were typing, you should do that stuff in person and via email just reconnect and try and get a second date. but thats my opinion.
