Was this a smooth attempt at a #-close?

Ok, so I was talking to this girl online for a while so I'm not going to put the whole chat log here, but if there's any part that's needed I'll add it.

Anyway, this is how the attempt went:

Me: I might take you to climb Mt. Everest with me. My record is 12.4 minutes without any climbing gear. :)
So if you're scared you don't have to worry about anything, I'll guide your cute self to the top safely. ;)

HB: Im kinda scared Dx
But ill try it :)

Me: You're not the adventurous type?
So it's a date then? Hit me up when you're ready to go. Pack lots of cereal or else we might starve up there. You'll have to make it though so I don't burn it. Don't be selfish and only bring fruity pebbles though!

HB: Ok ill bring honeycomb too! Jeez.
And im eh with adventure lol ill try pretty much anything ill just be scared the whole time Dx

Me: Good! Otherwise I would have probably filed for a divorce and only let you keep the dog or maybe the car too. :P
Nice, at least you try stuff and are open for new things. That's important.
No need to be scared though, you aren't going to be climbing Everest alone on this date though. Dates require 2 people. ;)

HB: Indeed they do :) I feel better now :p
And divorce??? Lol I though you adopted me as a sister not wife haha

Me: Good ;)
Oh yeah! Shoot, sorry about that, well I already filed for divorce and deleted your number off my phone.
Here, give it to me again so I can put it back in. My mistake.

HB: Oh slick move ;)

I haven't replied to that yet because I'm stumped. I thought it was a pretty smooth attempt and I was expecting it to work, but I guess not?
What do you guys think? And how should I reply to her "Oh slick move"?

All criticism, help, and comments are welcome. Please help. :) I'm really new to this.

Thanks! :)

She never gave me her number though. Her response was just "Oh slick move ;)" and nothing else.

Where do I go from there? How do I reply to that? Can anyone help?

Will you ever see this girl in person? It's a lot easier that way.

If she wanted to give you her number she would have. I find that women will say things like "Nice one," or "Smooth," or something similar when they want to say, "Nice try, I appreciate the effort, but I'm not really that comfortable with giving you my digits." If you plan on chatting with her more, try to avoid asking again and just set up a meet. That'd be best (see my first point).

When you're about to part after meeting up to hang, you can always just say, "I had a lot of fun with you today! Here, put your number in my phone." It works like charm as long as she doesn't see you as a threat.
