Background :

So here is this girl whom I contacted on OKC using my standard opener and she sent me a nice reply saying that i got her smiling when reading my opener and all. Immediately I asked for the number and she gave it to me. I said that I will not be able to see her on this weekend, but looking forward to seeing her next week. I proposed a text date on yesterday evening but fell asleep. At something like 10-00 pm she texts me and here is the conversation that followed.

Text date journal :

Girl: Hey, its Sarah. Just thought I'd say hello and happy Friday. :) 10:36 PM
Me: Hey Sarah, how it it going ? How has the evening treated you ? :) 10:43 PM
Girl: It's going alright. Relaxing evening. You? 10:44 PM
Me: Not too great. I may have caught cold this morning. Just woke up actually. And its raining ! And I hate damp rainy cold evenings. You chillin out with a glass of wine ? :) 10:47 PM
Girl: A glass of cider actually. Sorry to hear about your cold... hope my text didnt wake you 10:49 PM
Me: Oh no. Nothing like that. Now tell me, when are we getting together to discuss our impending marriage plan ? :) 10:52 PM
Me: And here is to our first text date. Cheers. :D 10:52 PM
Girl: Cheers! As for the getting together, its probably going to depend on your cold and my sprained ankle (currently on crutches). But I hope we can arrange s 10:53 PM
Girl: omething soon :) 10:53 PM
Me: Ohhh. I am sorry to hear about that. Get well soon. I could wait till you fully recover and get sprightly as a sparrow in the spring. :) 10:58 PM
Me: And no more slacklining for you post marriage ! :) 10:59 PM
Girl: Wait what? No way. I love my slacklining...the ankle happened on a run :( 11:00 PM
Girl: I should find out Monday how long the crutches will last. 11:01 PM
Me: lol. I suck at slacklining. Okies, you can do it, but only when I am around to catch you from falling down on the ground. And you gotta teach me how to do that. Okay ? 11:03 PM
Me: And where is this darned road where it happened ? Maybe I need to call some guys to smoothen the road out ! 11:04 PM
Girl: Hehe I can teach you... and I think only doing it when you are around to catch me is a great compromise. 11:05 PM
Girl: As for the road...I'd love to tell you that there was a huge hole or a child I was saving from being hit by a car... but really, I rolled it on a pinecone :( 11:06 PM
Me: Great. For I would absolutely hate to see Mrs. Awesome getting hurt and crying like a little girl does. :) 11:07 PM
Girl: Haha. Come on now, you think Mrs Awesome cries over nothing? There were limited tears :-P 11:08 PM
Me: lol. Its kinda hard to believe. :) 11:11 PM
Girl: So do you have any good weekend plans coming up? Or you gonna take it easy and work on getting over the cold? 11:12 PM
Me: Anyway now tell me your story. What brought you from the open plains of midwest to DC ? 11:13 PM
Me: I got two cricket matches on tomorrow and day after tomorrow. But I am not sure if they will be held as scheduled for there is a forecast for rain. I would hate to see the matches cancelled. 11:15 PM
Girl: Well, I came here by way of north Carolina where I went to grad school. I used to visit friends here a lot and ended up getting a job here. The test is h 11:16 PM
Girl: istory. 11:17 PM
Girl: What brought you here? 11:17 PM
Me: What did you study in grad school ? I got to America dreaming about studying hard during the weekdays in a good univ and riding motorcycles on the wide open highways with you sitting on the back seat, as they show in films. Little did I knew that I was getting into grad school. :) 11:20 PM
Girl: I studied occupational therapy, which is what I do now. What are you studying and how long've you been here? 11:24 PM
Me: What do you do for work and fun in DC ? 11:24 PM
Me: I am doing my masters in chemical engg at UMD. Been here for a year. 11:25 PM
Girl: For fun, I like getting outside when its warm (hiking, playing in the grass, slacklining). But mostly, I like being with the people I care about. We migh 11:27 PM
Girl: t go out for a drink or stay in and play game or watch a movie. You know, the usual...only more awesome 11:27 PM
Girl: Tell me about home. What's it like compared to here? 11:28 PM
Me: Excellent. Can't wait for you to get well now. :) America is different, but also as fun as my place. You know, like every place is like a pot of water with a different flavor and just gotta drink from that pot to enjoy the place. 11:32 PM
Me: Now cmon, its our date. :) We can talk about something more interesting. how about discussing out future road trips ? he he. 11:34 PM
Girl: Oooo. I do like road trips! I'm headed to California again in 2 weeks (lived there for 2 summers). Where do you wanna go? 11:35 PM
Me: How about an Euro trip on a motorcycle for honeymoon ?:) Maybe a trip through South America is also not be a bad idea. Who are you gonna go with on this trip ? 11:37 PM
Girl: My friend Meghan and I are going. We did it under the guise of a course for work, but have added an extra city and several extra days. 11:40 PM
Me: Now I am seriously getting jealous of you. You mind just a little jealousy (for right reasons) in a relationship ? :P 11:41 PM
Girl: Is also be up for a trip thru Africa... my friends got married on a beach in south Africa then toured around on a WWII era bike and sidecar :) 11:41 PM
Me: Just promise me that no crazy adventures till your leg heals completely. :) 11:41 PM
Girl: Just a little for the right reasons is ok. ;-) 11:43 PM
Me: I would be up for it. Get well soon. For I am giving my driver's skills test on wednesday. and i would hate see someone else to be the first one to ride pillion with me. :) 11:43 PM
Girl: As for the ankle, I'm really trying to be good. Since I have to be able to lift people at work, I cane do back till its fixed. Don't wanna mess it up. 11:44 PM
Girl: :) 11:45 PM
Girl: Have you been rising for a while? 11:45 PM
Me: Ha ha. I did ride illegally in the US without my license a couple of times. Lifting people at work ? 11:47 PM
Girl: As an OT, I help people with strokes, amputations, brain injuries, etc learn to take care of themselves again. A lot of times, when I format start workin 11:49 PM
Girl: g with them, they are unable to move themselves out of bed to a chair or toilet, so I have to be able to move them. 11:49 PM
Me: Ohh. That definitely does sound tough. For how long have you been out of action ? Am I right if I presume that you miss your slackline more than your work ? :) 11:52 PM
Girl: Been out just since Tuesday. Yeah, I miss the fun things most, but my work does have a lot of meaning and I truly enjoy doing it, so I miss it too. 11:54 PM
Girl: I got into it after a big injury of my own. Giving back a little everyday is a nice way to remember how lucky I am. (broke my back when I was young, am l 11:56 PM
Girl: ucky to walk and dance and run & play) 11:56 PM
Girl: By the way, I'm less clumsy than this makes me sound :) Or so I'll have you believe 11:58 PM
Me: I am sure that it does. Damn ! Are you an injury magnet ? I am so glad that you can do all those stuff. But I need to find it out myself. ;) 12:01 AM
Girl: Oh come on now... a few minor-ish injuries across 20 some years isn't so bad. O:-) You will see, I am good. And if I hadnt told you the back thing, you'd 12:03 AM
Girl: never know. 12:03 AM
Me: You wanna know a secret of mine ? :) 12:04 AM
Girl: Sure :) 12:05 AM
Me: First you gotta promise me that you are not going to share it with anyone else. :) 12:05 AM
Girl: Ok 12:06 AM
Me: You know, I am worse than you !! In the last twenty years I may have had something like 20 incidents that have put me out of action for considerable time. And these range from getting hurt real bad while playing soccer as a goalkeeper to getting hurt while getting out of a pit of spitting cobras that I had gotten into. :) 12:09 AM
Girl: Oh no! I'm gonna need to hear more about these spitting cobras! 12:11 AM
Me: lol. i hate those slithering creatures too. but from a distance they are just soo cool. :) 12:13 AM
Me: And my best friend;s favorite sick joke is to remind myself to be beware of rattlesnakes lying besides the sidewalks. ;P 12:14 AM
Girl: From a distance, yes...bit a pit of them (of any animal really) sounds awful 12:14 AM
Me: lol. trust me, this is a trait that i would hate to pass on to our kids. ;) 12:15 AM
Girl: For real! 12:15 AM
Girl: I think if how many heart attacks I've given my poor parents and want non of it. 12:16 AM
Girl: None. Wowee my autocorrect is not being a good friend tonight 12:17 AM
Me: Seriously. Now I have developed the habit of always looking at the sidewalks when I go for my cricket practice. :P 12:17 AM
Girl: I can only imagine. So did you just fall in? How deep was it? 12:17 AM
Me: Ha ha. We were playing cricket in the backyard of one of my friends and i started running for the catch when he hit it towards some place overgrown with thick bushes. I just fell into that pit which was sth like 3 ft deep and right after i plucked that ball lying inside it i saw some ten huge black cobras grinning at me with their cowboy hats on. :P 12:21 AM
Girl: Gross. And I thought the possibility of bears while hiking was bad! Eep. 12:22 AM
Girl: Haha 12:22 AM
Girl: Get bit? 12:23 AM
Me: Nope. I wouldn't have been here text dating you had I got bitten by any of those monsters. :) 12:24 AM
Girl: I didn't figure, but I've learned over time that you just never know. 12:25 AM
Girl: So do you have family here, or is it just you? 12:26 AM
Me: lol. I have no intention of figuring it out either. :) How bad is your arachnophobia ? 12:26 AM
Me: Its just me here. My family is still in India. My brother is also planning to come for grad school here though. What about your family ? 12:27 AM
Girl: I dont like them, but I deal with it. Spiders are ok when they know their place. Outside is a good place. On my body or in my bedroom means the spider ha 12:29 AM

Girl: My fam is all in Ohio. But I have some genuinely awesome friends here that have family status to me 12:30 AM
Me: I hate such intrusion by such creepy creature in my living space too. When were kids, one fine day we discovered the fine art of killing roaches and spiders by throwing our bathroom slippers and taught them to our cousins. By the time aunt got back home, the walls of her bedroom were plastered with dead roaches, for there were plenty in her house. :) 12:32 AM
Me: Awesome. I wish I could say the same here. Sometimes I kinda miss my folks and old friends here. 12:33 AM
Girl: Gross. I used to work with chimps and their pens always had reaches. One of the baby chimps would bring me dead reaches as a gift. Gross. 12:34 AM
Me: Ha ha ha. Thats funny. Maybe that baby chimp he found a little too cute to handle. JK. :) 12:35 AM
Girl: I'm sure its hard sometimes. I remember how much I misses the family for the 6 months I was abroad. Definitely hard sometimes, but worth it. Do you have 12:35 AM
Girl: more siblings than the one brother? 12:35 AM
Girl: Haha. 12:36 AM
Me: Nope. Mom says that rearing two devils in one house is more than enough. :) 12:36 AM
Girl: Haha I like it 12:37 AM
Me: Damn, you are the best first text date I have had. You can take that as a compliment. :) 12:39 AM
Girl: Thanks :) I'm really enjoying texting with you as well 12:40 AM
Me: Seriously, had I had a motorcycle and that you were without the crutches, I might even have just asked you out on a instant date right now. :D 12:40 AM
Me: Aah, I shall take that as a compliment too. :) 12:40 AM
Girl: :-) 12:41 AM
Me: :-) 12:41 AM
Me: How many siblings have you got ? 12:43 AM
Girl: So what time is your cricket game (it is it match?) 12:43 AM
Me: And who do you live with here in Virginia ? 12:43 AM
Girl: 2 brothers and a sister and 2 sisters-in-law. I live with friends here. 12:44 AM
Me: Its an official match of washington cricket league. i just started playing for this club actually. you know, i am the only non caribbean guy in the club and they are pretty excited abt it too. :D 12:45 AM
Girl: Haha nice! 12:46 AM
Me: You sure that they are not going to blow my head off with a shotgun when they see a guy holding a motorcycle helmet knocking on your door asking for Sarah in the middle of the night ? :D 12:46 AM
Me: Sometimes I wish I had a few sisters too. :P 12:47 AM
Girl: My roomies aren't the ones you have to worry about. If you ever meet my brothers, those will be the ones to give you a hard time :p 12:48 AM
Girl: Sisters are pretty sweet, if I do say so myself. I'm glad I had big brothers for protection and a big sis for sister things. 12:49 AM
Me: lol. i will be prepared in a nice way. :D now i get the picture.. . you actually are the pampered child of the family.. and thats why all these horror stories.. :D 12:51 AM
Girl: Youngest yes, pampered no. At least not most of the time. 12:52 AM
Me: And does that mean that we will be going out on instant dates when you recover and i get my motorcycle ? :D 12:52 AM
Girl: My stories are nothing compared to one of my brothers. In a week, he ate a fitful of poison plants, wrecked my parents car, and burned his arm on a tract 12:54 AM
Girl: or. He was only 4 years old! 12:54 AM
Girl: I think that sounds good :) 12:54 AM
Girl: As for tonight though, my eyes are starting to get heavy and I'm thinking it may be getting time for me to tuck myself away onto dreamland 12:57 AM

Goof up :

Here is the first goof up that I made. I was using google voice to text her. But by mistake I ended up sending the next two messages to another girl and went to the kitchen. After ten minutes when I came back, only then I realized my mistake. So I sent her the messages once again.

Me: Aah, that tells me that you are already madly in love with me. :D 1:03 AM
Me: Okies. Sarah, it was very nice dating you. :) And I am definitely looking forward to sharing our silly stories once again when we meet in person. Muaaah. :D 1:04 AM

I waited for a while and closed the conversation by sending the following message

Me: Are you already in the dreamland ? lol Sry, I had gone to kitchen to put sth on the microwave.. Good night. Take care. :) 1:10 AM

Questions to you :

Anyway, there are only two possibilities. First, she fell asleep while waiting for my reply, second she got pissed while waiting for my text or must have got angry seeing me sending a kiss via text !

Either way she has not texted me back this morning. And I am kinda disappointed with that as I spent sth like two hours texting her while going through my homework.

What should be my further course of action ? Should I text her this morning saying that my matches got cancelled, or sth like that ?

I am just starting out on this game. Now I need your help. Thanks. :)

Me: Damn, you are the best first text date I have had. You can take that as a compliment (seems like the pedastool has just been placed).
(pretty sure she is free on weekend)
12:49 AM
(she gives you the hint that she will not reject a meetup, she wants you to ask her out in person, she allready gave you a future projection)
Me: lol. i will be prepared in a nice way.
:D 12:52 AM
(seeking her approval, girls don't want to lead that is your job)

Thanks. :)
Most of this log seems like you just qualifying yourself, she more then likely wanted you to just man up and ask her out

Ohh, and all the while I was thinking that I was doing good !! Actually I did not bring the topic of dating her up as I was not free on this weekend, for I had a match and I am meeting another chick today.

Anyway points taken and appreciated. I will not delay it again with the other chicks.

Now should I just text her and directly ask her out on next Friday ? I sent her a text, if she replies then its fine, else fuck it. I am just going to delete her number and move on.
