Hey, so I was reading Mark Manson's models and he said to write down things I'd done that other people haven't. I quickly decided to try and spin this into a dating profile. So please give me feedback:
Quote:
I was simply amazed to learn how many of the most gifted musicians and performers are introverts. Michael Jackson, Prince, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, and the list goes on (and on). So I see myself as fitting somewhere in that group. I don't enjoy small talk and like to get to the point. People might consider me quiet and unassuming in person, but I enjoy public performance. In fact I've done quite a few different kinds. When I attended a church youth group when I was younger (I'm not religious now) I gave talks on three separate occasions. And I'm not talking five minutes, I'm talking twenty minutes or longer. I don't think anyone else in this fifty to a hundred strong youth group spoke as long as I did. I guess I had stuff to say. On another occasion at the same youth group, a friend of mine who was a worship leader invited me to sing the BBC song from Austin Powers at the start of the meeting. Hardly appropriate, but fun.

The same friend invited me to support his band by DJing at a club. I'm glad he only asked me on the night as I might have overthought it. So I've had the experience of random girls asking for tunes I've never heard of or telling me I should be playing a different genre entirely. Although I find DJing pretty easy I don't suppose it's much of a passion of mine though. I enjoy producing and performing my own music, which is mainly rock and hip hop. I rapped at a club when at uni and a friend of mine (gay) said I could have had any girl in there. That may be boastful to say and I don't know if it's necessarily true, but the girl I'd come there with seemed pretty keen to claim me when I got down off stage.

I've done a couple of showcases playing my own music (guitar based) and I enjoy this a lot, as well as playing covers. The most recent ones I've learnt are Foo Fighters and Stereophonics. I've played some obscure stuff too but good to find stuff people know. I've got literally hundreds of my own songs though. It's a bit silly really. I said I was an introvert right? So while you were gossiping at the bar, that's what I was doing haha.

Anyway that doesn't really cover my interests and talents. I've missed a couple of big ones (boasting again but hey). Professionally I work a semi-IT job but this interests me, programming particularly. I like that because it's structured but also creative (much like music). Anyway I'm really just getting into what interests me. I'm a bit of a natural at languages as well. Okay, I'm definitely showing off at this point :)

I have to thank Mark Manson for getting me to think about all the interesting stuff I have to offer. Don't know why I'm so habitually down on myself. Anyway, this is obviously a bit long. Which parts might you edit?
