I don't know if it's me or just my town. Recently I ran into a few cute chicks and talked to them on OKCupid. The convos went fine but few days later, their profiles were deleted. This has happened to about 7 out of 10 recent conversation I had on there. Just weird. Because I specifically avoid those suspiciously fake account. Those that I talked to seem normal and genuine. Anyone has the same problem?

Might just be a string of bad luck. OKCupid doesn't seem to be as bad as Tinder for the fake profiles. Tinder is getting out of control with fakes trying to get you to go to their website.

A lot of times, normal girls get overwhelmed after their first few days on sites like OKC and pof and delete the profiles without notice. Maybe it's shame over trying online dating, or maybe one person offended them and turned them off to the whole experience. In any event, it has happened a lot to me as well in the midst of a normal conversation.

The lesson learned here is to go for the number ASAP. I'm actually going to create a thread about this where we can pool our thoughts regarding getting the number from online dating.

I always aim for number close within 3-4 responses, however sometimes the convo dragged out for a few days because I was busy or she was and took longer to reply.

This is something I've noticed as well. The best answer I was able to come up with is: some of those girls are just tying it out to see what's on there out of curiosity, don't want friends to find out or want to get back together with their Bf's; lastly, maybe they had a bad experience with someone on there, etc. I think their overall investment in the site was low to begin with. Just from my experience.

When they block you it shows deleted, even though it's not. Don't worry about it. Happens to everyone.

Escalate to number closes, and also demonstrate value right away, and anchor positive thoughts and emotions to you.
