Haha, I never actually thought about emoticons or what eve they're called being percieved as IOIs. But I would say the latter one is a bigger IOI because it represents a bigger smile.


However, I would say it's a very weak form of IOI. The time it takes her to respond, and the length of her messages are bigger IOIs.

I Agree With Instinct.... Its a lot better to have your head in-field rather than worrying about "Smileys" however... I PERSONALLY don't take smileys seriously as iois because for all you know MAYBE that's just she texts her friends , family, etc... soo.. take it with a grain of salt.

I agree. Let me tell you a little story...

I knew this girl from high school. Very kind, but really annoying. We started chatting on fb and I started to feel like she was into me. She's a reliable person so I thought she was a worthy friend but I didn't want anything from her at all, so I used my PUA knowledge...

I picked up a shovel, dug a hole as deep as I was almost at the core of Earth. I made a sign, wrote FRIENDZONE in capitals on it and then I made more signs and decorated the 100 km radius of the hole with them, and then I jumped in.

It's not too hard to friendzone yourself if you want to, and that was my intention and it totally worked.

Still when we chat, this girl would send me hearts and kisses and I just know she's not into me any more because she tells me about her guy problems like... constantly. In which I'm happy to help, she's quite helpful when I want to come up with some romantic stuff for my girlfriend. Win-win but still those hearts and kisses are anything but IOIs, more like a short form of "Thank you for listenning"
