Ok, to start with this week has been my first foray into the online dating world and so far things seem to be going decently (i'd say roughly a 10% return rate before I started investigations yesterday and today into better opening lines). I'm using POF as a starter because its free and lots of people use it.

To the meat and potatoes of this whole thing. There are several attractive girls whom I messaged when I opened my account with something simple such as "hey, how's it going?", one or two the conversation simply fizzled out as she stopped responding (meh whatever), while others simply read and left it (I did go with the upgraded member for the vast additional wealth of information that I can get in regards to being viewed and when messages get read) or deleted it. Now, I've noticed in the "view me" category that several of these girls are consistently reviewing my profile, like daily, several days after deleting, ignoring, or stopping our conversation. Is there a good way to go about re-messaging them or just wait for them to come to me?

Please try to keep the pick up jargon to a minimum as my knowledge base in the world of PUA is extremely limited SPAM.

Waiting is pretty powerful. Let them check you out- don't visit their profiles bc it might make you seem like you want to talk to them but are too afraid.

Message them a week later.

A big no-no is messaging someone immediately after you see them checking out your profile.

Huh, hadn't considered that last point, but makes sense.

But as a remessage, it obviously wouldn't be a good idea to just send "Hey, ......." again. Any example of something that might be better? I suppose something poking at they being shy maybe?

You could! I like to be playful right off the bat - without worrying about niceties like "hey." Send a message like: "I'm digging that dress - yellow is definitely your color -" almost as if you're in mid conversation with her and changing subjects.

I don't have the highest response rate on okcupid, which is the dating site I use - so take my advice with a grain of salt.

For repeat viewers I like:

"Hey, it's not polite to stare and not say hi.. so .. hi! "

or similar variants.

Though I have by far the most success writing something that shows you read their profile but is short and sweet. okCupid's message blog post confirms this is the way to go (words like you mentioned etc. get the highest response rate)

I put a smiley face at the end just in case they don't have a sense of humor and might think that I'm pissed off or something. This worked quite well for me, I got around 50% response rate, just please don't use it on girls from Arizona because they might catch up to it lol
