Guys,

This is no big deal, but I'm just after a bit of advice regarding Facebook. This girl (who I've never met, but who lives in the same town, we have mutual friends etc) and I have exchanged a few light, fluff talk type messages over the last few weeks, and plenty of "pokes" back & forth. I know that "pokes" are ridiculous and mean absolutely nothing, but I want to try and step it up from just messing around to "gaming" her properly, and eventually meeting her for a drink.

I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK when we started out, it was I who instigated it, and then joked around with something like "Hey! Didn't your parents ever teach you not to poke strangers?!" It just went on from there. Pokes and the odd message are pretty useless, as I don't really feel like it's going anywhere! Any advice on how to take things up a notch would be great!

Just get to the point. It works better than you think, and if it doesn't work, it isn't because you messed something up, it's probably because she just wasn't interested in it at any point.
