I just want to see what people think about that convo i just had. Honestly after her 1st reply i was shocked and i didnt know what to say. But i think the fact that she gave me her number is a good sign. O well shes not really important to me either way. Let me know what you guys think. I want constructive criticism!!

You're right to worry. You opened with a pretty strong neg for someone you already knew, then you only 50% recovered leaving her half insulted. To top it off you tried to close in the same breath as your neg. Remember there is no sarcism, tone, or body language online or in text messages so any subtlety is lost online. Remember you're supposed to backhand compliment, not insult. Its hard to do that online. Its probably not a good idea to neg over email or IM.

I assume you knew her from before. You already had a connection/opening; you didn't need to neg. That neg was pretty harsh, bordering on an insult. You probably could have just said you lost your phone book and wanted to get her number and she'd have given it to you.

Also, unless you two are closer than I'm reading into this you're gonna need more to close on a date, it doesn't sound promising right now. She neg'd you in the first message ("so sowwyyyy, too bad for youuu") and then said she didn't care you were trying to build intrigue in the second one. Then she said she'll "see ya around sometime". Your last message may have been too little, too late.

Coffee haha close your eyes and imagine the type of ppl who go on coffee dates(I don't know about you but I see older ppl in their mid 40's-50). No one goes out to have a cup of coffee yuck, And like mugen said that neg in combination with the close was all wrong

Your opening message should have been simple

You: Give me your phone number

Your intial email cause you to have to do too much explaining in the rest of the emails to her afterward that's no good also it looked like the girl was gaming you she was too in control of that convo all because you set yourself up in the first message by tying to be funny and get a DATE

Dude, I actually like this. Next time, drop the "good luck with ___", too AFC. Chat with her a little longer after the number close if at all possible. Simplify your opener like Thug said, then have HER ask you why so as to leave the impression in her mind that she's the one interested and continuing the conversation.
