Opening a girl on facebook you don't know very well?

Haha no it doesn't go well at all man, sorry.

Try laying some groundwork first, liking a pic or two as she posts them up and making a funny comment on her status(es). Its a lot easier if she's active on facebook.

As for an opener, aside from saying something funny which is related to facebook and guarantees her response (ie: she posts a status, you make a joke, she likes your joke, you open chat with another joke related to it) which is very situational you can try using any of the openers or methods from online dating sites which are shared on this forum.

The pics works well and leads into a conversation. The only thing I have luck with so far is opening with don't I know you from school? Or a few different spins of that.

Opening on Facebook is quite easy, just don't start the convo with the random "Hi, what's up?". Girls are assaulted with this AFC opener and they probably won't answer your message.
The problem is that on Facebook is quite hard to build rapport, resume at small talk and try to get her phone number, for a further date.
