You're partly right, yes.

Although the concept of an opener is to get her responding to you, you also need it to generate early attraction, plus give you the opportunity to progress with your game.

You need to develop on this opener a tad to provide her with more options to respond with... her reply was pretty good here though.

I'd probably reply with something like "Well, my intentions are to provide you with interesting conversation! Where should we begin?!"

Not those words exactly ... but something along those lines. :) Good luck with her... :)
