| Hey Scroader,
Photos account for 90% of your profile if not more. I love the one where you're walking down the street. Its a very interesting shot, and gives targets the chance to ask what you were up to. (Also I love the jacket! ) I would probably scratch the other photo. Your photos should be picked to attract the kind of person you're interested in. This photo doesn't really convey much of a message. You might have come across as fun if you were smiling, but because you're not, its pretty neutral. You should probably have a few more photos on there. Most of them should be of you doing something interesting, and it might be a good idea to have one of you out on the town.
As far as the actual profile goes, I think what you have here is a collection of interesting thoughts about POF and online dating, but you would probably have more success by posting this up on the discussion forums section of the site, or on a blog. I wouldn't go on at length about how frustrated you are with POF in your profile, however.
At the very least an effective online profile does two things: 1. qualify her and 2. qualify yourself. You haven't done much of either here . Talk about what you're interested in a woman, then talk about what makes you awesome. You can certainly talk about what you're not, and what you're not looking for, but if you're too negative, the studies show that you will not yield results. Ideally, you should also talk about what you're looking for, and, most crucially, where she would fit in to your lifestyle.
For best results, when you write your profile, you need to ask yourself "what kind of woman am I interested in", and try to attract this kind of person. The entire thing should be consistent, sending out a message to your target demographic. For example, if you are only looking for sex, don't talk about how you're loyal and consistent; talk about how exciting you are and how fun you are to be around.
You're obviously intelligent, and you're a good writer. You have what it takes. Good luck! Let us know what kinds of results you get if you do end up revising.
