Hey, new to the game and the board, my plan is to build up confidence from online sarging then move into the field in time for my move to Uni.

Anyway, the Facebook poke, is it the sign of an AFC?

Everyone seems to do it, but a friend of mine has had plenty of F-Closes that originated from a Facebook poke, so thought I'd give it a go and was ignored by pretty much everyone, except a couple who reacted negatively for some reason. The problem is my friend isn't exactly up for sharing his secrets for whatever reason and tends to change to subject or just mumble when I ask him how he does it.

So what do you guys do when you see a 7+ on fb, never met her before, don't have her as a friend, so the only thing you can do is poke or send a message. How do you open her them keep her interested?
