Profile Views

On sites like POF, guys can see users who have last viewed their profile. It makes sense that girls can too. However, what happens if i view their profile, they see this and view mine before i have chance to send them the first message.

Could this be worse than if i had messaged straight away or not viewed the profile and messaged?

When i say worse, i mean does this have any baring on whether you get replies/interest or not.

Yep, your suspicions are accurate. If a girl has had a chance to check out your profile before even hearing from you, it's "game over" before it even started.

if you go into your mail setting on PoF, there is an option called
Allow a user to see that I
viewed their profile:

you can set this to "No", and I presume that means that other members won't know when or if you've viewed them

I just couldn't imagine a woman thinking, "wow, this guy is cute, has a good profile. Too bad he looked at my profile, and I saw his profile before he even contacted me".
