I've been texting this okcupid chick for a few weeks now and she always responds instantly and looks at my profile every week. Well she asked me for my name and I made her guess and then she asked for my age and I made her guess that but here's where it went:

Me: Guess

her: You and your games lol. 23

me: ohhh...close but no

her: oh no younger?

me: Yep

her: haha i'm old

me: I turn 23 next month. Also..."oh no"...?

her: lol 22 is young for me, at least your legal haha

me: wow really haha ok

her: why wow? do you often date girls older than you?


How should I respond to this to prevent further DLV

This is a tricky one.

You might be tempted to say yes, but that comes out sounding try hard. On the other hand, you definitely don't want to tell her she's the first "older" woman to interact with you.

Your best bet here is to go for something vague.

“I’ve dated women of many different ages, younger and older. I don’t limit myself based on an arbitrary number. The connection is what’s most important to me.”

To be honest I don't think you telling her how old you are is DLV and I think its important that you see that instead the DLV came when you responded
