I'll share some thoughts with you guys, I was out at a club last saturday and I FB closed an HB7 (best I could find in the club) it was a succesful run but I didn't k-close/number close. when I got home I felt as if I hadn't closed at all, and here is why:

Although a FB/Myspace close is one step closer to full close (a small one) there are some fundamental problems with it. when I number close I know that I can reasonably contact my target regardless of what time of day it is or where she might be at any given time. with FB/MS close she HAS to be on FB/MS in order to contact her , also you might fall into the trap of conveying too much intrest in her via sending messages etc.

The way I handle this is simply to concider FB/MS close *unclosed* I need to then take the game online for a few more days:

request, wait a few days, opinion opener, wait a few days, neg, convo, wait a few more days. then relay that I really don't have time to check myspace all that much and ask for an alternate means of communication (note that I don't directley ask her for her number, I convince her that if she wants to talk to me she HAS to give me HER number, this way it is all her decision)

when I online close I immediatley work toward number close, as the number close is a fundamental part of meeting up with your target, which is what we want to do 100% of the time right?

secondly some PUA's in training find online sarging easier, but, if you want to learn you need to get out there with a wing and get real approach experiance under your belt. (although don't scratch online sarging from your game, just try to number close from it)

don't get stuck online, and if you do, move on. (just my thoughts on the matter)
