I personally have had success with the folllowing:

Which girl on the Hills do you think most resembles you? Why? (Don't watch that show? Me either but all girls do, you can find a brief synopsis online just to give you some points) This one is good because it gives you time to think because her response will be long in most cases.

ask her where she would definately NOT go in the city...then ask why. (Make eye contact on this one ) You can get a good feel on what facial expression she uses when she is uncertain or hesitant here.

Always use a why after a question if you need time to plot or reset.
