I have been having a few girls on POF message me, and just asking "how’s it going". I Replied with "Its going great, it's my Friday, and I'm getting ready for a bbq." Then I ask them "how is it going". I usually get a reply back saying that its going good, but not question. Where do I go from here? I don’t want to make them feel like I need them, so I don’t want to ask them another question. Do I just let it die here?

If a girl opens you on a website with something like that, it means that she's interested, but probably too lazy to come up with something substantial to say. She's basically saying, "It's in your court to get this conversation going?"

Now, if you sent the first message to a girl saying "How's it going?" she probably wouldn't respond back at all, so it's a bit of a double standard. But, if you don't mind that, your best move is to read her profile and make a comment/ask a question about something in it to keep the conversation going. Replying simply with "How's it going?" isn't going to work too often because that is something that is usually asked among people that are familiar. You gotta give her more than that.

I hate it when I get those type of messages from girls. Most of the time I reply just like you did Hatcher, with no real effort to carry the conversation as most of the time I am not interested in these girls. Tho if I do find a girl interesting I usually reply back with a smart ass reply. I usually say I am going to the moon or I just came back from the moon or something off the wall like that.
