I think it maybe possible to handle it directly. If the OPs profile says he is looking for something casual he's going to have a hard time twisting around. Solution: don't try. I would be tempted to throw her a comment that past long term relationships developed when the OP was originally only there for a casual thing. Imply it can go both ways from a casual start.
