Ok, this chick is absolutely gorgeous... from what her profile tells me with a great sense of humor as well. She friends me first and even though this is a huge, in-your-face IOI i need an aloof way to follow up her friend request with a msg but it has to be funny and completely lacking any excitement about her initiating our exchange. Any suggestions? We're both libras so i was thinking about disqualifying myself by saying smth like "too bad well never be able to get along, were too similar" or some variation on that... on the other hand perhaps i shouldn't disqualify myself since she gave me a big IOI in the first place and is seeking rapport...Please share your thoughts and comments on this.

What's the context? Is this a girl that you already know or is it a completely random add... i.e. you have NEVER had any contact before.

If the latter you should really check carefully to see if she is a fake. The clues are, a very small number of pics, very low numbers of friends (less than 100) or very high numbers (500+) and whether there are lots of people saying "Thanx 4 the add bebe" on her page.

Assuming she is real, you should not be aloof, you should be friendly. She's given you a big IoI, you don't need to play stupid games. The cocky funny route can work, but it's riskier.

shes definitely real but a total stranger, although we have a few friends in common ... i think ill follow ur advice on being friendly. ill post back about how it goes with her...thanks for the input.

Two important things to clarify here:

1) If you're referring to Myspace, sometimes people add other people for no reason. So it could be an "IOI" or not.
2) No need to be aloof, contact her. Take the initiative.
