On a famous internet dating site I had a woman some 7years older than me leave a mail saying it was a shame i probably wouldn't be interested in someone her age. I went back, without thinking things through saying something along the lines of "your comment about age, well - to quote forest gump, life is like a box of chocs, you never know what you're going to get". implying that I may well be interested regardless of age. Stupidly I should have said, "while in terms of a relationship I really am looking for someone younger but since I have a big interest in humanity and meeting different people I would like to get to know you better" or something like that.

Anyhow - how do i now tell her what I want?
