Apparently I had my profile limited to friends only... But I still got 8 of 23 response, which I find to be all the more impressive, considering people could only see my picture (which was shitty and old). This makes me think I could get a maybe 90 percent reply rate now.

In summary
-I notice that most don't actually get the joke, you think I should be pointing that out?
-Also despite the fact that they mention look for "dating/relationship" and being single, a lot of them have a real dislike for anyone trying to hit on them
-Within the week I should have a cool looking profile (and I am going to re-message some people that didn't reply), but I wanted to see where these all led before that.
