Swimming to control panic reaction

I was swimming today, doin laps & I couldn't get a full lap w.o. Coming up for air... Now the human body is able to hold it's breath for a little while... So I Soon realized my panic reaction to running low on air was causing me to loose my breath faster... So now, I do laps & while under remind myself that the panicking was the only thing that was going to hurt me... & I surpressed the reaction. Then it hit me that, that reaction was the same as my social anxiety reaction.. & this was a good focus excercise... So I recommend it to anyone who wants more control.
