Hi guys. Um, I'm 21, really quiet, never had a girlfriend, never kissed anyone. I don't really get out, needless to say I'm not happy with that. I have been thinking about going to a nightclub partly simply to see what it's like, because I've never been to one. My social skills are really bad and to be honest I'm desperate, but I've now run out of people to ask to take me to one, so I guess I might have to do it on my own. Any thoughts on that, would it be a good or a bad idea? Are they particularly good places for shy people to find women, and would starting off going in the small hours and/or in the week be very sensible? I've been to the pub with people after work very occasionally but that's as far as my social life gets at the moment.

Thank you for any thoughts...

From my personal experience with going out to clubs as a really shy guy, you probably won't meet people right away unless you just suck it up and approach someone... BUT, it can give you a good idea of the social dynamic of a club.
I'm by far not an expert in pick-up yet, I still can't really approach people in a club, but from going out to clubs more, you will start to feel more comfortable in that kind of setting.
Just try not to be a wall-flower, and look like you're having a great time!

Pff, I expect I'd be hiding in the darkest corner! Yeah it's going to be hard if I do. But how many years should you look for someone to take you? I've got ideas about what it's like but it's probably totally different. It would be the scariest thing I've ever done, then I'd be able to look forward to the quiz I'd have when I get home about where I've been.

BTW I won't look like too much of an idiot if I just have a Coke (I want to drive) will I? I prefer it anyway. I mean they're good enough reasons in themselves aren't they?

I'm a newbie too but I found that going to clubs on my own was fine but really boring whenever I got really nervous.

Come up with a plan or an activity that will stop you getting bored in there.
Having a coke is fine I found, and my excuse still is I'm driving

Quiz at home? Go out with your mom/sis/bro shopping you can game in malls too.

that way theres no question of where you've been. 8)

The funny thing about coke: No one can tell what you've got it mixed with.

Most dance clubs even use the same plastic cup for both, so don't even worry about it unless someone asks... and then just tell them it's coke. I think there's a few lines floating around here about saying you don't need alcohol to have a good time and such as a DHV.

Heya!

Usually it is the first two-four nights at the nightclub that is a bit scary. You should read up some theory and try to make some friends while out. Especially girls. Then you can go out with them in the future which in turn gives you a great DHV and may help you to find some great friends:)
