Got this e-mail a few weeks after our first meetup, she had mentioned that she would be busy with studies/exam during that time so no surprise there. In any case, was contacting other girls in the meantime.

Should I take the following as a lost cause and move on or maybe a chance to climb out of the friend zone? I am a shy person by nature, maybe I did not give out my intentions well, etc.?

need more details on this buddy. Did you initiate kino? Did you neg well enough as to not take you as a guy that just casually takes her out.

You screwed up on the first date by paying for her. It doesn't sound like you made it sound like it was a privilege for her to go out with you and have you pay.

It's okay though. Just remember next time lots of kino. Also on second dates really I like to build tons of comfort so she can feel like she can talk to me.
