Hello
I'm new here, and new on the PUA thing. I've been working hard on the inner game and finally took my first step in the outside world. I thought I'd share with you this trick. I found it on an NLP website - it's not strictly NLP but it's all related - and it was great!

So I found myself on the street between KFC and BK, poo-ing myself trying to actually muster the courage to do it. For about half an hour.... seems silly now. Then I did it. As I queued in Burger King, alone, my heart was pounding. Then came my turn:

Assistant (a bloke): Yes please?
Me: Can I have a cheese and tomato Pizza please?
Assistant: Pardon:
Me: A Cheese and tomato pizza.
Assistant: You might want to go to a pizza place for that...
Me: Oh, is this not a Chinese?
Assistant: No
Me Oh, thank you. Bye.

And I was gone. It felt great as I left the shop. I knew that I looked like a fool in front of staff and customers, but it felt great. I'm going to do it every day for a while.
The reasons this is supposed to be good is it teaches you (1) If you say something wrong nothing bad will happen to you (2) Talking to strangers is not going to be dangerous and (3) Public humiliation isn't that bad.

I smiled all the way home. Next time I will do it with far more confidence and authority. Let the game begin...

Anyone else tried this or a variation?

i didn't try it intentionally, but having my first set in a club end up with the girls walking away and me and my friends laughing at how badly i got shot down was the best start to a night i could have hoped for. that was like the worst response possible, and i was able to laugh it off. really dealt with the AA for the rest of the night.

i like how your method makes that kind of thing happen. I'm sure after a while the whole process will become mundane, making the fear disappear. great idea.

That stuff really works. You can do pretty much whatever you like in a set and nothing really bad will happen to you.

I was watching series 2 of the Pick Up Artist in america a few weeks ago, and Mattador told a guy to just walk up to girls and say any old random thing in the club. So he just says "I like pickle juice" in the middle of the set and it comes off as more funny than scary.

The best thing to do is to take this material and use it as an opener. Go with the most stupid opener you can think of. One that I came up with and it works all the time is "Can you girls remember the theme tune to 'the raccoons'?" (the 80s kids cartoon)

It turns out everybody knows the raccoons tv show, but no one knows the theme!! It allows you to throw a neg about "cyril sneer" or say "Clearly you're more of a thundercats girl" and then you can pick cartoon characters for all the group and call them by their cartoon names. ("you're just like bugs bunny because your nose wiggles when you talk" etc.

have fun with it.

That's a funny tactic. You could push it to see how far you could push the convo. I used to call random numbers and see how long I could keep a conversation going.

Hi Wessel

Since it is now more than one month you started to do Mc Pizza, I would like to ask you, how long did it take to improve and what other things did you try?

I also started with McPizza, but then moved to McShushi or McDoenner, sometimes it gets really funny and turns even into game.

Then I switched to asking my way to the place where I am standing at the moment. Where can I find a McDonalds (standing in front of it). Or what is the best way to Eiffel Tower (I'm living in Austria, not Paris). This opener also starts conversation, as girls either have been on Eiffel Tower or want to go there. And it is a preselection, because you sort out all the girls, who don't have humor.

Another thing I started this week is to buy bubble gum or other items worth less then 1 EUR with credit card. This gets me really funny looks.

Happy Sarging, DeepSea

Hello Deepsea
That's fantastic, love the Eiffel Tower thing. I'm going to try that one out, and being from UK means there's be a swim involved. Especially as I live by the sea where you'd get the ferry to France. I'll give it a go.
Funny you should ask about other things, I am currently compiling a little list, I'm going to get it down to my favourites after a few run outs, then i'll post it here. I might go to a different city to try some of them out, people I know might not understand if they saw...
A tip for anyone trying McPizza (love the term Deepsea), keep it quiet. People will either think you're crazy or think you're lying. But do it.
I think I've convinced myself now that it is safe to say pretty much anything so won't need to be participating for much longer, except for fun.
I'll post the list when it's refined.
