It gets worse when I'm around a girl I really like, the symptoms are, I constantly have to take deep breaths, feeling anxious and nausea. The most annoying symptom is definately the deep breathing part, it's like I'm catching breath every 2 minutes, it's just ridiculous, I also wonder if that could mean something more serious than anxiety. Has anyone here experienced this? This goes on for a few days but then off again for a few, almost always comes back when I'm in a stressful situation, I really wanna get rid of this :S
I also want to note that I go to the gym about 5 times a week, I recently began meditating 20 minutes each day, but it only relieves the symptom for a short period.

But, there's a drug called Inderal (Propranolol) that is prescribed for social and performance anxiety. The drug is a non-selective beta blocker that inhibits excess norephenphrine (a neurotransmitter) that is responsible for physical symptoms of anxiety (i.e., shaking hands, blushing, racing heartbeat, sweaty hands etc.). This drug might work for you along with counseling to get over your social anxiety. Doctors readily prescribe it, it's not habit forming and it's incredibly cheap. Do some research and talk to your doctor.

Maybe ... even better ... go to a psychiatrist. It doesn't mean you are crazy. You have psychological problems. This is what AA basically is ... it is a social anxiety that is psychological of nature.
